Travel Essentials to Keep you Feeling Fab (And make your flight easier)

We’re not all Lala Kent-ing in life, but just because we’re flying coach, doesn’t mean we can’t at least feel fab. Whether my commute is a short 2 hour drive or I have a full day of flying ahead of me, I’ve veeeery specific about my travel essentials.

Mostly, I NEVER skimp on my skincare. Clothes, sure, I can pack light in that department. Ya know, plan out my outfits, keep things minimal. But travel skincare I refuse to limit just because I’m away from home. And finding ways to bring things along in my carry-on is crucial.

Lily and I just got back from spending 3 weeks back home in the Yukon. Do you know how long it takes to fly between the Yukon and Nova Scotia? Fucking forever. That’s how long. Basically, no flights are longer without leaving the country.

Oh, and did I mention? We both woke up with food poisoning on the morning of our return flight home. Yep. Not pleasant at all. To top that off, we were flying redeye. A 5 hour flight, overnight, in the middle seat, 6 1/2 months pregnant, and trying not to puke. The cherry on top? Because we were sitting in front of the emergency exit, our seats didn’t recline.

…Needless to say, I was ecstatic to land in Halifax the following morning.

When travelling with a child, it’s hard to pack light. But considering I’d have my hands full regardless, I needed to at least pack my carry-on smartly.

The key to packing a carry-on: Organization!

I know my daughter is 4 now, but yes, I’m still totally using my diaper bag. I have this one from Coach and it’s honestly the best investment I’ve ever made.

What I love about this bag is all the compartments. I can keep everything organized (yes, in what I believe are suppose to be bottle holders) I’ll have my sunglasses, a pocket for chargers and pens, one for lip glosses, hand lotions, etc. It’s also the perfect size to carry my laptop. Seriously, even if you don’t have kids, you NEED a diaper/baby bag! There are so many out there that you could never tell are baby bags from looking at them.

Now that you’ve got the perfect bag, let’s discuss the rest…
Travel Essentials

1. Forever 21 Clear Makeup Train Case //  2. Lilly Pulitzer Earbuds //  3.Herbivore Hydrating Face Mist //  4. Oh K! OH K! Ginseng & Eucalyptus Under Eye Mask //  5.Vichy LiftActiv Hyalu Face Mask // 6.Smith’s Rosebud Salve Tube //  7.Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes // 8. Michael Michael Kors Travel Continental Wallet //  9. Hempz Travel Size Triple Moisture Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer //

Clear Makeup Bag

Just as essential as your organized carry-on bag. Carrying around your travel sized skincare items in a ziplock is soooo annoying. No thanks. But you gotta keep things easy at security, right? Grab a makeup bag that’s cute AND you can see through.

Earbuds

Of course we all want noise-cancelling headphones, but personally, I find them so annoying and bulky to travel with. The smaller (and lighter), the better

Rosewater Spray

Or any face mist of your preference. I love love love a face mist. It’ll help you to feel refreshed and keep your skin hydrated throughout your travels

Under Eye Masks

If you’re tired, dehydrated, or feeling puffy, one of the first places it shows is around your eyes. Apply these during your flight to get off looking like you just got a great nights rest.

Vichy LiftActiv Hyalu Mask

This mask in particular is a travel essential. First of all, the mask is designed to leave you looking relaxed and rested. The hyaluronic acid instantly makes you look skin look more hydrated and youthful (much needed after a day of travelling). But why is it a travel essential over other masks? It only needs to be left on for 5 minutes AND it’s clear so you can barely tell it’s on your face. No one will even know you’ve got the mask on!

Lip Balm

Obviously. This one in particular is one of my faves.

Face Wipes

I’m not typically a face wipe girl – I love a full on cleanse. But you’ll need these when travelling. Personally, I don’t like to wear makeup when I’m travelling, but it’s nice to wipe gross airplane air (aka. stranger breath) off your face after each flight. Also, you’re gonna wish you had these if you’re bringing that Vichy Hyalu mask.

Travel Wallet

To help you keep all your travel documents organized!

Hand Sanitizer

Another obvious one. So many people. So many strangers. So many people/strangers travelling from who knows where bringing god knows what back with them.

I wanna hear from YOU guys! What are your travel essentials!?
