A Vanilla Latte… For your BOD ;)

Ever have a coffee so good you just wanna bathe in it? Or, ever need a coffee so badly that you might just have to bathe in it? Well, you can! It might not wake you the same way, but a coffee SCRUB can help plump your skin!

OKAY, I know it doesn’t look all that appetizing (it can get a little messy) but it smells INCREDIBLE.

Listen, I can be a major product junkie. I’ve somehow managed to fill two bathrooms with all the stuff I have (and hardly use). That’s a lot of clutter and a lot of money. So when I have a DIY that actually works, it’s gold. And this scrub really does it’s job.

BONUS: I’m sure you’ll already have all the ingredients in your cabinets.

bean north coffee - coffee scrub

For those of you not familiar with Bean North,  – They are a coffee roasting company up here in Whitehorse, Yukon. Their coffee is organic fair trade and so freaking good! I’m so happy to find a drip coffee I actually enjoy making at home. In fact, I’m drinking a cup of this right now… at 5:10pm….it’s been a long day….

Now, back to the scrub! Coffee has so many benefits when used in skin care. Here’s why I like to use a coffee scrub:

It’s more gentle than using a sugar or salt scrub
It BRIGHTENS! (you’ll begin to see I love a product that brightens)
It can minimize the visibility of cellulite

It’s really the perfect skin care ingredient for spring. It’ll buff, smooth, and brighten those legs! Bring on the short shorts.

(and please, mother nature, bring on the sunshine…)

DIY coffee scrub with bean north coffee

You can kind of play around with the measurements for this recipe to make it more your desired texture. But here’s how I like to do it:

2 generous tbsp coconut oil, then melt
1/4 cup coffee grinds
3 tbsp brown sugar
generous sprinkle of cinnamon
splash vanilla extract

Keep it in a sealed glass container to last you for a bit! Like I mentioned earlier, coffee grinds are much more gentle on your skin than sugars… which is why I love it! I throw in the brown sugar to make it a little more intense, but you can substitute if you have sensitive skin. But coffee grinds also have soothing properties too. And the coconut oil will add that extra boost of moisture to that skin!
