Affordable ways to enhance your skin care routine

Enhance Your Skin Care Routine… Affordably.

Enhance your skin care routine, affordably

Enhance your skin care routine, affordably

Who else can’t help but to play the comparison game? It’s a love/hate thing really. It’s fun to learn new tricks and get inspo from the influencers and celebrities we follow on social media. But it can be sooooo easy to forget that they’re probably not wearing drug store foundation and relying on sheet masks.

Botox, fillers, chemical peels… all that glam… it’s becoming more and more normalized (SO MUCH YESSSSS) but it’s not always readily available. I mean, that shit gets pricey. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take your skin care routine up a notch.

You may not have the money (or even more importantly, the TIME) to be hitting up the spa and a clinic every few weeks. (God, wouldn’t that be nice). But thankfully, there are TONS of ways to really enhance your skin care routine, you know, reeeeally take it next level… AND they won’t break the bank.

Affordable ways to enhance your skin care routine

Also! While we’re on the topic… how freaking lucky are we to have access to SO much information? So many resources right at our finger tips. It’s like today’s knowledge of health in a way. Our generation is aware of the effects of too much sun exposure, not washing your makeup off, and simply, a lack of skin care. Raise your hand if you’re all for prevention!?

Make everyday a spa day

Dry Brush

Sometimes you need a little more than a good scrub from Sephora. Dry brushing is great for not only exfoliating dead skin cells, but also lymphatic drainage and increasing blood circulation. Make sure to get a brush that’s really tough. No, REEEEEEEALLY tough. The one I have is apparently infused with charcoal… I don’t know that it does anything special, but it claims to! It’s safe to do daily and honestly… once you do it once, you will WANT to do it daily because it becomes addicting. You can grab the brushes from any drug store, amazon… I got mine at Winners. Very easy to get your hands on! Just make sure to get one with tough bristles. The Skinny Confidential recommends even using a dish brush if you like it really intense!

Face Oil

I love love love an oil. All over please! Coconut oil for the bod. Jojoba and Rosehip for the face. I find slathering my skin in rosehip oil before bed, leaves me to wake up with glowing, evenly toned skin. Which is huge for me because I get so much redness! Jojoba oil is another lover of mine. I mix it with my moisturizer during the day. It’s perfect for anyone with oily skin because it won’t clog your pores. I know… there are so many oils to choose from out there. Our girl, Dr. Nikka Kanani did an awesome post breaking down the right type of oil for your skin type.

Face Mist

Ahhhh. It’s like a breath of fresh air for your face. I wake up with it, I spritz before applying my serum. I spritz during the day when I need to wake up. I spritz when skin is looking a little bleh. You get it. Okay. I’ve shared my love for the Mario Badescu one. Ya know… the $10 one that is like magic that you’ve probably seen all over instagram? I love it. Although I have to say…. I’ve been trying more and more to weed out any products that don’t contain all natural ingredients. Sometimes you gotta go with what works (And the Mario Badescu one is amazing) But I’ve recently started using the flora toning mist by Tanna Beauty…. It’s equally as amazing, if not better. AND guys…. ingredients you can be proud to put on your skin! PLUS the packaging is just cute and instagramable so you’re gonna want to grab a bottle. (While you’re at it, grab the cleansing dust! Trust me!)

Ice Roll

I’ve talked about this before. I bring it up all the time. I can’t stop. GAME. CHANGER. The ice roller was created to prevent inflammation, I think, in joints and muscles. But over time, it’s become a beauty hack. You know when you’ve been on a plane, or humidity sets in, or you’re hungover? And your face is all puffy? ICE ROLL You can buy this gem of a beauty tool on amazon for like 15 bucks, put the roller part in your freezer, and have a bloat/hangover/humidity -face remover at your finger tips. I find the coolness also really helps with all the annoying redness I get. TRY IT! You may not even realize you get any inflammation in your face until after you’ve seen the results from this.

Amp up your skin care routine, affordably.

These are some of my fave hacks…. what are YOURS!? Tell me everything! Be specific. Fave tricks, products, tools….. I want it all!
