Let’s Get #basic

basics

Fun fact: I’m a fashion school drop out

…..yep

No graduation day for me.

I love all things clothes and accessories but even in my 19-year old fashion school days, I was so BASIC.

I’ve never been the trendiest person. I like things simple. Classic. Easy.

One thing I think every woman should be figuring out in their 20’s is their wardrobe.

I mean, have some fun. Play around with trends and your own style. But have the basics. The key staples. The things that will always kind of work with each other, the other staples, and mix and match with your more trendy pieces.

Yesterday I talked about sunglasses and how I’m all for splurging on key pieces and tightening the purse strings on the trends.

WELL!

Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going, I figured I’d share my favourite finds! (for both ends up the budget) PSSST. Hurry up because the sale is almost over!

Okay, lets start with my everyday go to. The White Tee.

You can throw on after the gym. You can dress it up with some leather skinnies and boots. You can style with boyfriend jeans and sneakers. You can wear it to bed…

The perfect thing to babe-ify that white tee?

A leather jacket.

Here’s the thing. A jacket, a simple not overly trendy one, you will wear all the time and probably keep for at least a few years. Shell out the extra $$$ if you find one you really love.

A handbag. I’m the kind of person who will buy one handbag and use it for like, 2 years. (I’m not starting to sound homeless am I?)

Shit, now that I mention it… I’m technically homeless for the next week…

But okay. I used to work for a leather handbag company. I gained such an appreciation for a quality bag. (and DON’T say purse…grandma).

Before buying a bag consider the following:

♥How do you like to carry the bag (on your shoulder, elbow, hand)

♥What do you need room for? (just keys, wallet, sunglasses? Or a laptop and planner and makeup bag and extra shoes and everything else you own?)

♥Color? If you wear jeans on the reg, watch out buying white or beige. Denim rubs off easily when you’re carrying your bag and it stains!!

Boots boots boots! We haven’t had the best summer up here in the ol’ Yukon. I’m ready for fall fashion.  Check out these babes

Happy shopping everyone! Remember, the #Nsale ends August 6th!
