My Fave Products for the Kid Who’s Sensitive to EVERYTHING

Products for kids with sensitive skin

If you’re a mom, I’m sure you’re just like me in that you worry about every single thing that goes on or in your kids body.

If you’re NOT a mom, well, think of how much you care about the chemicals in your food, your makeup, your skin care, etc. Now think about this brand new tiny human who’s never been exposed to any of those chemicals, really. How pure! There’s such an intense desire to keep it that way.

Lily seems to react to EVERYTHING. By the time she was 2 she had already dealt with insane eczema and skin rashes. We’re discovering now that she might have an allergy to dairy that’s causing her asthma to flare up. Yep, she also has asthma. So we are very careful with everything we give her.

Obviously, at not quite 3 years old, she’s still pretty new to life and exposure to things – so I’m sure we’ll find more and more what works for her as she grows. But for now, here are some products I just LOVE for her that we’ve had great success with… and some that I even love for myself too 😉

Snails Nail Polish

I’m gonna start with a fun one because Lily has been such a diva lately and needs a fresh manicure every day. I’m loving Snails Nail Polish for her. These nail polishes contain only safe ingredients for the kid always putting their hands in their mouth. They dry insanely quickly (no smudged nail polish all over your furniture!) AND they wash off with just water, which means no having to bust out any nail polish remover on those tiny digits. (also, where Lily is always insisting on painting my nails too, I don’t have to worry about going to work with a 2-year-olds mani job)

The Honest Company

After feeling at a loss for something that won’t irritate her skin, we finally gave the Honest Company Shampoo & Body Wash a try and are obsessed. I even use it for myself sometimes. This one in particular smells like an orange creamsicle! I also love the Face and Body Lotion. It’s not too heavy but does the job, which is all I can ask.  She’s been rash and eczema free ever since we started using it a few months ago!

La-Roche Posay – Lipikar Baume

Gold. Freaking gold. I had used Lipikar Baume myself but never considered it for Lily until a doctor recommended it to soothe her eczema. It worked! And helped to soothe and clear up the eczema in no time! It also comes in a body wash too. Because it is more balm-y (but not greasy!), I would put it on Lily’s eczema before bed, and by the morning would already see results.

Tom’s Toothpaste

With children it is very important to use a toothpaste that is fluoride-free. Those little ones haven’t quite figured out the whole spitting-out-your-toothpaste thing yet. We’ve been loving this drug store brand! Another absolute favourite, I’ve talked about it before, is Jack & Jill. We have yet to find this one in our new town. But are loving Tom’s!
